So wrap covers are the modern day equivalent of plastic pants. They are the pretty much shaped like a disposable diaper, but they go on over the absorbent portion of the diaper, like a prefold.
Wrap covers usually vary in price from about 5 to 15 dollars. There are lots of styles and colors and brands to choose from. Wraps are always the outside portion of a two step diaper change. Check out my quick guide to diaper types if you aren’t sure what I mean about that.
Using wrap covers is part of a two step diaper change system, and so generally these covers are very economical.
In addition to being economical because they cost less than one change system diapers, you also need fewer of them because you can reuse wraps in between washes until they get soiled or start to smell. I usually toss them in the dirty laundry if they get very very wet also (because usually that’s when they start to smell anyway).
Lots of options for absorbent layers…You can choose prefolds, flat diapers, fitteds, or even use inserts in certain types of wrap covers. These are the most versatile type of diaper covers.
If you want a one step diaper change, these are not for you.
And yeah… That’s it. As always, I’m here to help if you have any questions.
